PRESIDENT Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo headed the groundbreaking of the P40-million drainage systems project in Brgy. Banica, Roxas City on December 7.
Among the projected 85,000 residents in the city who will benefit from this project, present during the ceremony was 19-year-old Leonila Suan, student from Capiz State University, who represented the residents in extending their gratitude to the president.
According to Suan, this project will be beneficial to all, most especially, to students who experience flooding in school and in the road side during rainy season.
“I am very thankful should this project be realized so that my siblings and I won’t experience flooding during heavy typhoons,” said Suan.
The P40-million project aims to improve the sewage systems to increase the discharge capacity of run-off water.
Mayor Vicente Bermejo of Roxas City also expressed his appreciation to President Arroyo for the funds to solve the flowage in the city. (With PIA)/PN
