Roxas City — The city government
of Roxas headed by Mayor Vicente Bermejo has adopted
a new web page to put itself on track in the global
information highway as well as enhance its existing
on-line facility.
The design for its official web page, which was first
adopted by the city in 2005, was chosen by the city
government from the entries of a web page design competition
conducted by the Office of the City Mayor early this
month in time for the Sinadya sa Halaran festival celebration
of the city and Province of Capiz from December 5-8.
The winning design was created by Clifton Egida, a
computer instructor of Filamer Christian College ~ College
of Computer Studies. It is temporarily located on the
website http://www.ica-capiz.org/roxascity.
The contest was conducted by Bryan Mari Argos, curator
of the Roxas City Ang Panublion Museum and Ricardo Ureta,
Information and Communication Technology Specialist
of the Office of the City Mayor.
The move to have a web page is in line with the thrust
of the city government to put vital information about
its profile, offices, development plan and strategies,
services, tourism-oriented attractions and destinations
and facilities and other important information that
could be accessed by clients and visitors on-line through
the ICT technology.
This also puts the city on-line with the government
program to boost the ICT sector and the use of the new
technology .
