Roxas City – Punong Barangay Wilson A. Acervo Sr. of Brgy..Mongpong, this city, was elected president of the Liga ng mga Barangay Federation Chapter of this city in the recent held at Rustic Bar in Brgy. Banica, this city, Dec. 11.

     According to Jose Aurelio B. Roldan, city DILG head, the election was conducted peacefully and orderly in accord with the guidelines set by the DILG.

    Other Liga officers elected were Arturo A. Aragon (cagay), vice president; and Randee Catalino A, Albar (Lawa-an), auditor.

    The board of directors are Manuel A, Aninang (Olotayan), Ildefonso L.Tobillo (Brgy, III), Rolando F. Celoso (Adlawan), Romeo de Felipe (Punta Tabuc), Alfredo Cartujano (Balijuagan), Celestion C. Corros (Liong), Rufo M. Baltero (Lonoy), and Noel F. Agapito (Brgy. VI).

     The board of canvassers are composed of Freddie Doroteo (Brgy. V), chairman, Frederick Agrasada (Banica) and Reynaldo Araw-Araw (Barra), members.

     The election committee that conducted the election proper is composed of Nelson Vidal (Brgy, XI), chairman, Jessie Salgado ( Tiza) and Arthur Arcangeles (Tanque), members.

      The board of election supervisors is headed by Jose Aurelio B. Roldan (City DILG Head), chairman, Atty. Wil S. Arceño (Comolec) and Leny Alberto Apanitan (NGO), members.

     Wilson Acervo Sr. used to based the city Liga chapter in lieu of the former Liga president Rogelio Delfin and its vice president Rolando Ignacio, who were both elected as city councilor in the May 14 elections. However, Acervo was not recognized to sit as ex oficio member of the Sanggunian Panlungsod but as an interim president of the city Liga chapter.

     Roldan said as duly elected Liga Federation president the Local Gov’t Code of 1991 mamdates that he shall sit as ex-oficio member of the city councilor.
