Roxas City — More than 100 teaching and non-teaching employees of the Department of Education in the Division of Capiz will be honored on December 14 here.

According to Dr. Eveleth Gamboa, Assistant Schools Division Superintendent of Capiz, they have about 110 teaching and non-teaching employees from both elementary and secondary levels who will be given recognition for their outstanding performance for school year 2006-2007.

Gamboa said that their “Gawad Parangal” this year is also a day for the DepEd personnel in Capiz to “come together as one family and share the Yuletide season.”

She said that among those who will be given recognition are the schools, administrators, teachers, non-teaching personnel, supervisors and special programs like the Child Friendly School System, Bio-Intensive Gardening, Learning Resource Center, among others.

DepEd Regional officials in Western Visayas as well as provincial officials in Capiz led by Governor Victor Tanco, Sr. are expected to grace this year’s activity, Gamboa said.

She disclosed that Capiz’s schools division is composed of 18 districts with 4,890 teaching and non-teaching force.
