Phil. Navy's plane crash-lands near Roxas City

Roxas City - A twin-engine Cessna plane operated by the Philipine Navy crash-landed last August 12, 2008 at around 12 noon in Agoho, Panay, Capiz.

The plane left Mactan Airport in Cebu and was on its way to Cavite when it encountered engine trouble. The pilot tried to reach Roxas City airport for an emergency landing while jettisoning some of their cargo but it wasn't enough and they skidded off a fishpond in Agoho, Panay.

The Navy pilot and officers miraculously survived with relatively minor scratches but the plane was wrecked and settled at the fishpond owned by the Mercado family.
