| 29 NGO’s Accredited by Sanggunian Panglungsod of Roxas City |
Roxas City – Some 29 non-government organizations (NGO’s), People’s Organizations (POs) and the Private Sector (PSOs) were accredited by the Sanggunian Panglungsod of this city for membership in local special bodies of the city government pursuant to Article 64 of the Implementing Rules and Regulations of the Local Government Code of 1991.
According to Dino C. Beluso, SP Secretary, the accreditation is embodied in Resolution No. 120-2007, dated August 16 this year.
Accredited were the Capiz Women, Inc., Roxas City Urban Poor , Habitat for Humanity, Roxas City Affiliate, Ladies of Charity – AIC Philippines, Roxas City Pistol & Rifle Association, Inc. (RCPRA), Banawan Association for Environment, Inc., Buas Damlag sang Panimalay, Inc.
Capiz Arts Council, Inc., 4 K’s Organization, Inc., Capiz Volunteer Assistance Team (CVAT), Inc., REACT Phils., Inc. (Halaran Group), Association of Service Provider for Landless Residents of Capiz and Roxas City, Sigmahanon Foundation for Culture and Arts, Inc., Boy Scouts of the Philippines, Capiz Council.
Alliance of Roxas City Tricycle Operators & Drivers Assn., Inc. (ARCTODA), Capiz Roxas Islamic Foundation, Inc., Datu Bangkaya Traders Multu-Purpose Cooperative, Knights of the Columbus Council 3691, Union of the Handicapped of Roxas City and Capiz, Inc., Capiz Multi-Purpose Cooperative, Inc., and Federation of Senior Citizens Assn. of the Philippines (FSCAP).
Those accredited on August 23 were Citizen’s Crime Watch (CCW) Task Force, Roxas City Taekwondo Assn. (ROX-CATA), Inc., Federation of the Tricycle Operators and Drivers Assn. in Roxas City and Capiz (FOTODAARCC), Save Olotayan, Inc., Roxas City Bureau of Fire Protection Multi-Purpose Cooperative, Capiz Halaran Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Inc., Roxas City Filipino-Chinese Chamber of Commerce, Inc., and Capiz Basketball Referees and Officials Assn., Inc. (CAPBAROA).
Representatives of these accredited associations will be called for a meeting where they will choose and decide which local special bodies they intend to be a member of such as the city development council, peace and order council, local health board, local school board and bids and awards committee. A non-government organization (NGO) is a legally constituted organization created by private persons or organizations with no participation or representation of any government. In the cases in which NGOs are funded totally or partially by governments, the NGO maintains its non-governmental status insofar as it excludes government representatives from membership in the organization. |
